Various Paint Options: Paint markers utilize different types of paint, including acrylic, and oil-based. Acrylic-based markers are versatile and suitable for most surfaces, both indoor and outdoor. They are often preferred for indoor projects due to their low odor and easy cleanup.  Oil-based markers are more permanent and ideal for outdoor usage, the common downside of them is usually the smell and dry time. We also carry a wide range of solid markers, such as the Markal paint sticks, and the original Sakura Solid Markers. These are fantastic for tagging metal, freight, and any weird surface.

Formula Attributes:  All different types of formulas are available. Some have UV-resistant properties, and others have anti-buff formulas that make them harder to remove.

Tip and Nib Size Variations: Markers come in all different shapes and sizes. The main thing you have to worry about is the tip, often referred to as the nib.  Select based on the surface and level of detail required. We offer a huge range of sizes from super tiny 1mm to super wide 30mm chisel tips.

- Tips for Usage -

Consider these helpful tips to get the best results from your paint markers.

1. Choose the right marker: Understand that different paint markers are made for different surfaces. While the majority of paint markers can cover most surfaces, some are better for others. Mops for smooth surfaces, metal tips for rough surfaces, and solid markers for everything in between. Always be sure to test things out.

2. Prepare your surface: Be sure to always ear the surface thoroughly of any dirt, dust, or oil that could prevent the paint from sticking properly. When tagging be sure to be careful of using cotton nibs on rough surfaces like brick or concrete, as this will quickly destroy them.

3. Shake the marker well: Before using any paint marker be sure to shake it up! At least 30 seconds so you can properly mix together all of the pigments and solvents! Often times you'll see these separate in the marker if you don't use it for a while. Paint markers usually come equipped with marbles or mixing balls inside them to help the process.

4. Prime the nib: Most paint markers make use of a pump valve system to deliver the paint to the nib. Simply push down on the nib on a smooth flat surface and let the paint soak the nib. Don't push down for too long as you'll let too much paint flow out.

- FAQs -

Are paint markers ideal for outdoor use?
-Many paint markers are created to withstand outdoor conditions, offering waterproof and sun-proof properties. Depending on the formula of the paint used some end up fading quicker than others.

Can I use paint markers on the fabric?
-Yes, some paint markers work on different fabrics. It is best to read the original manufacturer's instructions for this, as some need a primer for them to adhere properly to the cloth.

How much time do paint markers take to dry?
-The drying times for paint markers vary based on the brand you are using and on the surface you are applying. Water-based acrylic paints such as the ONE4ALL from Molotow are very fast drying. But other types of marker dry times can vary, particularly ones with oil-based formulas.

How long do paint markers last?
-The lifespan of paint markers depends on the usage and care of the marker, If following proper storage techniques, paint markers will last for years. The main thing that will fail, is the nib. We offer replacement nibs so you don't have to buy new markers every time.

Are paint markers safe for children to use?
-Depending on the formula, most paint markers are typically safe, but adult guidance is always a must for kids who are using them. For more safety, be sure to verify the product details and age limit before giving them to children to use. Avoid the use of oil-based paints or markers that contain harsh solvents such as xylene.

Can I refill paint markers?
-Many paint markers have the option to refill them by simply unscrewing the marker. A good majority of markers open anticlockwise so be sure to try both ways before giving up! We also sell refills, so you can get more life out of your favorite markers.
